Rautio Piano Trio: Patronage and Influence in Vienna

Violinist Jane Gordon brings her critically acclaimed Rautio Piano Trio to Kino-Teatr for an afternoon exploring the people and connections behind the music of the Classical era. Music by Haydn, Beethoven and Marianne Martines, the composer, singer and keyboard player who hosted one of 18th-century Vienna's most important musical salons.

The trio performs on a fortepiano specially brought to Hastings from Glyndebourne, recreating something of the sound world in which these works were first heard. Includes an artists in conversation talk. Held in association with Hastings Chamber Music Festival and supported by the Continuo Foundation.
