Battel Bonfire Boyes hold their annual Guy Fawkes celebrations in Battle, with a procession through the town, a bonfire and fireworks.
The procession leaves from Market Road at about 7.30pm and goes down the High Street and Lower Lake to Station Approach, then returns to Abbey Green. The bonfire is lit at about 9pm and the fireworks follow at about 9.30pm. Timings are approximate and can vary.
Roads close from 6pm to midnight, including Powdermill Lane, High Street, Market Road, Upper Lake, Lower Lake, Battle Hill and Station Approach. There is no dedicated event parking, so arrive early and use the public car parks on Mount Street and Market Road. Do not park along the route.
Abbey Green gets very crowded. The organisers suggest watching from the top of the High Street or the Market Road car park. Wrap up warm.
Free to attend, with donations collected for local good causes.
