Art historian and curator Jo Baring explores why humans have been carving and moulding sculpture for forty thousand years, in conversation with Nerissa Taysom at Charleston's Hay Barn.

The talk travels from the prehistoric Lion Man figure to a Mayan pyramid and Michelangelo's Pieta, and takes in twentieth century and contemporary giants such as Giacometti, Hepworth, Moore, Bourgeois, Kusama and Gormley.
