My name is Davinia McGann, and I am the Founder and Head Coach at Chateau Velo Indoor Cycling Studio and Cafe, located in Peacehaven, East Sussex. We are organizing a special fundraising event on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, to support a local young man named Noah Rees in his bid for the 2028 Paralympic Games.

Noah's story is truly inspiring. In 2019, he suffered a critical accident on Brighton Seafront, resulting in severe injuries. Despite this, Noah has shown remarkable resilience and is now training for the Paralympics. Given the limited funding available for his training, our goal is to raise money to help cover his equipment and travel costs.

On Saturday, June 29th, 2024, the community is invited to participate in a unique indoor cycling challenge aimed at raising much-needed funds for Noah’s training and equipment.

In 2019, Noah experienced a life-changing accident when a railing collapsed on Brighton Seafront, resulting in severe injuries including a broken spine, skull fractures, punctured lungs, and a split carotid artery leading to a lasting brain injury. Against all odds, Noah has demonstrated incredible resilience and is now training to compete in the 2028 Paralympic Games. With limited funding available, this fundraiser aims to provide Noah with the financial support necessary to achieve his Paralympic dreams.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, June 29th, 2024
Time: Starting at 8:00 AM
Location: Chateau Velo Indoor Cycling Studio and Cafe, 198 South Coast Road, Peacehaven, BN10 8JL
Participants can join the 55-mile ride individually or as a team, cycling on stationary bikes within the studio. The distance represents the London to Brighton bike ride that Noah had hoped to complete but has been unable to due to the lack of a suitable bike setup.

Why 55 Miles?
The 55-mile distance mirrors the iconic London to Brighton bike ride, symbolizing Noah's aspirations and the challenges he has faced.

Rules:

Complete the mileage on the day.
Teams can have unlimited members, and participants can swap over as needed.
Take breaks as necessary – "pedal pushers" will keep the bikes moving!
Fundraising Goal:
Each bike is asked to raise at least £110, contributing to our overall goal of £1000 for Noah's training fund. A registration fee of £15 per person covers drinks, snacks, a goody bag, and a finishers T-shirt. Registration closes on June 21st, or when all bikes are booked.
