Join us for an afternoon of celebration as we unveil a plaque to commemorate Paul Robeson and his legacy. Robeson performed bass-baritone songs from the late 1920s until 1939, in the Floral Room at the Winter Garden. With delighted standing room audiences of 2000 and queues of disappointed fans left outside. Glowing local newspaper reports followed. The programme for this commemorative celebration includes:
