This is our third UNO SOLO25 exhibition of the year, “Duet”, in which we are excited to welcome back Liza Morton, this time accompanied by Adele Walshe. Together, they will delight you with their expertise in ceramics and glass, demonstrating how similar processes, using raw materials and heat, can yield strikingly different outcomes.
Liza Morton - Ceramics
Liza's collection this year emerged from two sketchbook challenges. Studying printmaking, she explores colour, texture, and layers, inspired by daily walks with her dogs and husband. Her dogs remain central to her artistic practice, offering endless inspiration as they age. After 20 years of teaching, Liza now fully embraces life as an artist, dividing her time between pottery and painting. The ever-changing Sussex shoreline fuels her creativity, from winter’s biting winds to misty sea frets. She exhibits across Sussex, including Brighton Artists Open Houses and Gallery Uno, with her passion for art deeply linked to her commitment to dog rescue centres.
Adele Walshe - Glass
Born in Berkshire, Adele grew up in a renovated farmhouse with her family. Her creativity was shaped by her mother’s passion for watercolour painting and her father’s inventive engineering career. After 30 years in IT, including six in California, Adele took redundancy in 2018. Invited by a friend to a stained-glass class sparked a profound artistic shift. Since, she has enrolled on a Foundation Diploma at West Dean College, expanding her skills further. Adele’s stained-glass work is playful and imaginative, from recreating Brighton’s Duke of York’s Cinema legs to custom commissions. Living in Seaford, she continues experimenting with fused glass and exploring new artistic frontiers.
